The concept of the updated Government Program will be presented in the coming months.

To date, implementation of the Nurly Zhol Program gave a significant socio-economic effect to the economy. The Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar said this at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to him, the concept of the updated Nurly Zhol Program until 2025 will be presented this month.

- Already today, the economy has received the significant socio-economic effect from the implementation of the Nurly Zhol Program. The condition of the transport infrastructure has been improved, the capacity of the republican roads, main railway networks, and logistic infrastructure has been increased. Transport accessibility has been enhanced for the population and transport costs have been reduced for business, - he said.

According to him, the implementation of the Program allowed not only to maintain, but also increase the growth of macroeconomic indicators in the transport sector.

- Last year alone, real growth of investments in the fixed assets came to 6.1% and amounted to about KZT1.5 trillion. The volume of transport services has increased by 4.6%, and the labor productivity increased by 3.4%. During the implementation of all projects in the field of transport, 127,000 temporary and about 34,000 permanent jobs have been created, - the head of department informed.

Mr. Sklyar added that the further implementation of the tasks for the development of the transport sector will be included in the Nurly Zhol Government Program until 2025.

- The new infrastructure development policy under this Program will be based on the following principles. First, social orientation will be towards improving the quality of life of the population, with the focus on the oblast and district levels. Second, the development of transport infrastructure will be in the context of the integration of various modes of transport into a single system. Third, the priority of decisions will be based on intellectual technologies, digitalization and integration into global systems, - the Minister said.

In addition, today the concept is being developed and in March of this year it will be submitted for consideration.

- The Draft Program will be prepared by June, and procedures of approval in the Government agencies will be completed by August. We will submit it to the Republican Budget Commission in September and then to the members of the Government for their consideration. The deadline for adoption is December 2019, - Mr. Sklyar concluded.
